Rome vs Phyrrus Battle Reports - from every angle!

As we all know, in the real world the winner is the one who writes the history after the event, but in the world of wargaming it's simply the gamer with the fastest-published blog site who usually gets to spin their side of the story.

Well... that has always been true... up until now..

That's because, in a brand new innovative international experimental virtual online collaboration (apologies if this is now starting to sound like a tiresome Zoom conference you've had to endure at work...) both  Madaxeman.com and the fabulous Phil on Ancients Blog have gotten together to roll some Tabletop Simulator dice in a textbook Classical battle featuring Phyrrus vs Rome... and both generals have created mirror-image battle reports of the same game!

The Madaxeman Video Report is on YouTube on The Madaxeman Channel

Phil's blogger-format report is online on his Blog

Then... in a ridiculously recursive and self-absorbed development both of us discuss the game in a totally separate video where we compare both written (or recorded) match reports.

Yes, your chance to watch and read about the same battle, played between the same two people, in THREE vaguely different formats - what more could a wargamer want to help get themselves through the latest iteration of Lockdown?!

This site, reviewed in Miniature Wargames!

Some nice words from Henry Hyde at Miniature Wargames about this site, as Madaxeman.com is the "Blog of the Month" for February 2015!

"This month, get yourself over to the Madaxeman site at http://madaxemandotcom.blogspot.co.uk
which is rammed full of excellent stuff. One aspect that I really like is where he tests various rulesets, such as a recent tryout of L’Art de la Guerre Ancients rules at http://www.madaxeman.com/reports/
Art_de_la_Guerre_review.php. There’s a lovely sense of humour underpinning the site, with lots of variety, recently including a photo report of a Field of Glory Renaissance tournament complete with comic strip speech bubbles! Great stuff. "

Fame at last!!

Blogger Integration at last !!

I've finally worked out how to integrate the design of Madaxeman.com into Blogger (which loads of wargamers use for their websites and to keep track of what;s going on).

This may not sound like a big deal to any technophobes out there, but the practical benefit is that this site now has loads of additional ways for you to pootle around finding obscure, forgotten and random stuff that my lack of a coherent navigation system means might otherwise be forgotten and lost.

It also means that anyone with a Blogger or Google account can do some clever linking and friending stuff to Madaxeman.com.

Have a look for yourself !

(there are also lots of new ways for you to automatically and easily send links from the site to your mates - via Facebook, email and all sorts of other systems - see the new row of logos at the top of each page!)

Madaxeman.com has a Blog!

Well, to be honest it's had one for a while, but I've just tidied it up and I'm quite proud of it. The Blog is accessible here and whilst it looks different, it is in fact a standard "Blogger" blog so if you have your own Blog you can link to it through all the many very, very clever Blogger widgets.

The Blog is a technical fix to help me feed news onto this site, and everything that appears on the Blog also appears here as well so no need to bookmark anything twice - but it does have an archive of "news" items, some other sorting options, the chance for you to leave comments and some more toys as well.

If Blogger is your thing, it's worth a look...
