Another week, another load of old rubbish as the regulars chat on about their glacial rate of painting, wheel out another obscure quiz and this time attempt also to demostrate just how hard unscripted radio comedy can be in a tribute to non-wargaming legend and all round Goodie Tim Brooke-Taylor.

In that "3rd difficult week"  for many podcasts, when good intentions come smashing up against the hard reality of running out of things to actually say, the Madaxeman.com Lockdown Special crew amazingly dodge that particular subject-matter bullet by yet again chuntering on about literally nothing in particular, and also by throwing in a new guest paticipant in the shape of fellow CLWC club-member Tamsin from the Wargaming Girl blog.

As well as the usual chunter, dross and fluff this week there is even more coverage of buying and painting Vikings, whether it's acceptable to cheat with WW2 German cammo patterns, just how much effort is too much when it comes to 15mm Samurai, rescue techniques for those all-too-common gold spray paint accidents, the challenges of insuring wargaming figures, whether the film Highlander would work if it was remade to cover the life of an immortal ACW General living in modern day Hoxton, Venexia's rebirth in North West England, if buying a whole 28mm army is justified if in the process you can then avoid wasting a £3 sheet of waterslide decals, and - of course - Andy Finkelkelkelkel's Quiz of the Week, which this time around dares to venture into thematic territory so obscure it would surely frighten even the most battle-hardened Osprey Publishing commissioning editor.

And we drink some beer. Which is nice.

The Lockdown Podcast - A Second Episode!

This week in the second episode of the Madaxeman Podcast Lockdown Specials the intrepid band of non-adventurers chunter on about topics as diverse as Ancient Britons, the merits and inherent risks of ordering Strippers online, how historic family bereavements can get in the way of wargaming, beer festivals in your bedroom, the psychology of Dremel-denial, whether Challenger 2000 or Shock of Impact was the most complex historical ruleset ever produced, choosing armies for non-competitions, Norman shields, and the age old question, what might be the crappest thing on eBay right now?

There is also the start of a brand new regular feature, Andy Finkel-kel-kel-kel's brand new Weekly Quiz (with it's own theme tune)!

Lockdown! The Madaxeman.com Podcast returns..

With much of the gaming world in lockdown it's become impossible to go to the pub and talk rubbish about wargaming - so why not listen to 5 random blokes talking rubbish about wargaming for an hour or so while you're doing some painting?

The Venetians @ The USTT 2019 - a Madaxeman.com Podcast

The USTT L'Art de la Guerre event is one of the bigger North American tournaments which in January 2019 attracted 40 players in teams of 4... including Henry "Tucker" Saglio who was kind enough to agree to be interviewed about his 5 games on the Madaxeman.com Podcast.

The interview was conducted over Skype, so there are moments where the audio is a bit patchy, but hey, it's not like you've signed up to this on Patreon or anything now is it?

His own write ups of his games also appear on the ADLG forum, and the lists he played against can be found on the Madaxeman ADLG Wiki

Two Armies, Two Podcasts...

With two L'Art de la Guerre podcasts now firmly under my belt it feels like an opportune moment to release them fully into the interweb by actually telling people that they exist.

Ideal to listen to whilst painting your own figures, in these two Podcasts (also available on YouTube, with pictures) are where you can learn from people who are far better players than I am about how to design a Ghaznavid or a Sassanid army list for L'Art de la Guerre.

What's in the Bag? The Salute 2016 Podcast !

In this latest Podcast episode I'm joined by Ian, Gavin, Jeavon, John and Stan all from Central London Wargames Club in a "straight to live" recording made in the beer garden of the Fox pub at the ExCeL Centre, London.

The Fox may not be the most salubrious of locations, but the Audacity software I used has cleaned up almost all of the pub-background noise when recording the podcast so the sound quality is surprisingly good for what was the resting place for weary and thirsty gamers escaping from the mega-show that was Salute! 2016.

In this episode I ask the question "What's in the Bag?" of all of my guests, and with some added liquid lubrication the discussion then rambles onto subjects as diverse as the pricing of 15mm figures, packaging strategies (blister pack or baggie?), how much would you pay for a boardgame if you lived on a submarine, and just how many 1/3000th scale ships are "too many"?

To get the full experience it may be best to have at least 3-4 pints yourself before tuning in !
